9:09 pm - I love.
I feel kind of bad about my last entry as truely I was PMSing and just feeling all around bitchy. So here's the counter to it, my "I love" entry...

I love...
Marcus:
I love the way he makes me feel like a princess;
I love the way I get tingles down my spine when I look into his eyes;
I love the way he comments on my eye freckles all the time (I have gold flecks in my green eyes);
I love the way he's tickled by me running my fingers across his skin;
I love the way he wraps his arms around me and makes me feel thin and beautiful;
I love the way he can be playful and sexual at the same time;
I love the way he's turned on by me nibbling on his ears;
I love the way he is so understanding of me and my insecurities;
I love the way he holds me;
I love the way he kisses me;
I love the way he can't resist my kisses;
I love the way I can't resist his kisses;
I love the way he loves me.

I love...
Spring:
I love green grass;
I love leaves on the trees;
I love daffodils;
I love roses blooming in the garden;
I love warm weather;
I love sunshine;
I love thunderstorms;
I love the long days;
I love the eventing season.

I love...
Greg:
I love his cute face;
I love his perky ears;
I love his snappy jump;
I love his gallop;
I love his addiction to peppermints;
I love his bend in dressage;
I love his canter;
I love his walk;
I love his trail rides;
I love his spooks;
I love his soft orange coat.

I love...
Eventing:
I love to gallop;
I love to jump;
I love a challenge;
I love to bend;
I love the noise of cantering through water;
I love the solitariness of cross-country;
I love the resounding hoofbeats as I gallop;
I love the competition;
I love being surrounded by others who love what I love;
I love to ride.

I love...
my friends:
I love the way they laugh;
I love the way they make me laugh;
I love our diversness;
I love our close bonds;
I love our girliness;
I love our tomboyness;
I love our strangeness;
I love the fun we have together.

1:07 pm
I finally got to see Samm again. :) Marcus went to Covington (about 4 hours to the West) to visit relatives this weekend, so I had nothing at all planned. So, I went over Sammie's yesterday afternoon and we went off to Cary Town, which is this street full of cute (and expensive) little boutiques in downtown Richmond. They were having a "block party" with sales in most store, so it was nice. ;) I didn't get anything, being very good after my $50 spent on pretty sketcher sneakers. However, Samm found THE most gorgeous prom dress in Lex's dress shop. We weren't looking for prom dresses, we just stopped in to look at the skirts that were on sale and there was The Dress. Not that we knew it to start with, Samm was just laughing like, "I have to try this on." It was absolutely goregous. Very mermaid. A scalloped strap-less form-fitting torso part with vertical stripes of beads and sequins trailing off into the skirt part that's made with 5 layers of shimmering fabric. Very Cinderella. The whole thing is bright, brilliant jewel-of-the-Nile blue. Originally $300, Samm got her down to $150 because it was torn around the zipper a bit (just the stitching coming out, easy enough to fix).

Right, then we went to the Thai Diner for dinner, meeting up with one of Samm's friends and his friend. They were, uh, rather old (try 30s) and I forbid Samm to ever meet this guy alone. Samm and her friend were talking the entire time without "conversation" between the whole table (not for lack of trying on Samm's part, but her 'friend' was verrry interested in her, and only her. ugh.). So, friend's friend and I ended up talking the whole time, which was okay because he was rather interesting. A physical therapist and in the Army. Since I'm an Armybrat myself, we had plenty of things to talk about. So, not bad. And the Thai food was pretty good. Yum. Plus, heehee, they paid. I love being a girl. ;)

Then we went to Samm's work, Richmond Pottery, and I met her friend/employers and got a tour of the pottery, which was oh-so-interesting. Oh, and on the way there Marcus called from Covington, which is so cute. Heehee. Can you believe I have actually signed myself into a relationship? I know, scary, huh?

Well, anyways, I had mucho fun hanging with Samm. :) I love having my car nowadays. It's kinda funny, Samm and I are so totally completely different, but we get along so well. :D

10:29 pm - Compassionate Conservatism, my ass.
Here's the essay I was talking about writing earlier. I'm thinking that is makes no sense, considering I have no clue what I'm talking about. The conclusion is rather ironic because, uh, yeah, the whole damn editorial is non-concrete because Yours Truly doesn't have a clue about politics. Doodoodoo. However, she usually gives me an A for effort (or something), so I guess it won't be too bloody when I get it back.

Compassionate Conservatism
George W. Bush belongs to the Republican party. So, our dear President is a conservative, right? Well, not exactly. He is not not a conservative either. He, in his own special way, has developed his own term to describe the hazy area in which his political stance sits. “Compassionate conservatism” he calls it.
Compassionate conservatism - the political philosophy that has liberal inclinations but is practiced by one who fervently claims to be a conservative. Perhaps the esteemed President believes that his attempt at alliteration will charm all the people, conservatives and liberals alike, into checking off his name on the ballot. Perhaps Bush thinks that by acting like a liberal, he will get their votes, and by labeling himself a conservative, he will get those votes too. This is a little like having his cake and eating it too. However, he did not consider the possibility that his liberal actions would inflame loyal partisan conservatives and his conservative label would warn off any potential liberals.
Take, for instance, education. No self-respecting conservative would ever allow the federal government to get its furry paws on what is essentially a state’s right. George W. Bush, self proclaimed ‘compassionate conservative,’ has done so with his No Child Left Behind Act. However, he has not acted liberally in a particularly competent fashion. This may be a result of either his pitiful attempt at covering this with a conservative label or possibly the conflicting views of his puppeteers--err--advisors.
There is also gun control. What conservative wants to limit the Second Amendment? Well, good old George does. In fact, with his Project Safe Neighborhoods, he has increased the possibility of innocent gun owners being incarcerated. Once again, even though he has attempted a liberal policy, he has not done so in an effective manner. Taking the plan from a rather small scale in Richmond, Virginia; he tried to expand it to fit the entire nation. Bad idea.
The Patriot Act is another of those all too frequent mistakes. Not only is it violating the written Constitution, it infringes upon a variety of Amendments in the Bill of Rights. The Act goes beyond conservatism, certainly, and perhaps even beyond radicalism. It is uncertain as to how this can be considered compassionate, much less conservative, but it must sound good in the minds of Bush’s speech writers.
Compassionate conservatism is the name of the game. It is a game where a wolf wears sheepskin, where a liberal calls himself a conservative. Where smoke and mirrors plays a bigger part than anything actually concrete. Bush is trying to evade any possible objections from anyone, and in doing so is making himself more offensive than ever.

5:54 pm - A whole day of nothing
Today I did absolutely nothing, and you know what? It's was nice. :) I slept really late, as in I didn't get up until 11am. :D Yumm. I love doing that. Then I played on the 'net a bit, and watched Harold and Maude. Weird, weird movie. But I want to be just like Maude when I'm 79. ;) Well, other than the blue eyeshadow or the sleeping with teenagers. O.o

Um, other than that, I did nothing! Whoot. Okay, now I have to go write an editorial on the conservatsim/nonconservatism of Our Dear President (also known as Dubya).

1:56 pm - Whoot, new journal
Okay, I've started this new journal. Funfun! "poniegurl" was an annoying name and I always type it "poniefurl" anyways, so I just couldn't stand it anymore. Plus, I never updated it. Nothing like a new name to inspire greatness. :)
